Gladly, I have a handful of hours today to ignore the world and do some creating.
Last Sunday was good. I spent some time alone, then my friend Sarah joined me and that felt nice too. She asked insightful questions about my process and pointed out that I'll need to do even more work than I had anticipated (deadpan yay) to train my colourist. She's placing herself in my shoes, and empathising and predicting the issues I'll face. It's rewarding and reassuring in ways I can't describe.
Later that night, there were tears in my eyes as I thanked Sarah and explained why her interest is so valuable.
Curiously - when my introvert batteries are shagged, I retreat to public spaces like cafes. This instinct always confused an ex-girlfriend. I enjoy being around people; I just don't want people around me.
